We love cookies / Third party analysis tools

Most websites you visit use cookies to help your whole browsing experience run that little bit smoother. Cookies do a bunch of different jobs, like storing your preferences, loading pages quicker, and generally greasing the wheels of the entire site. That’s why we love them.

Outdoors Ramsey Limited uses various third party analysis tools such as Google Analytics which may collect information about your computer including your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration and in order to create reports.
These programmes may also collect anonymous statistical data about our users’ browsing actions and patterns to report website trends without identifying individual visitors. You can opt out of Google Analytics without affecting how you visit our site.

When is a cookie not a cookie?

When it’s a text file. Essentially, a cookie is a simple text file that is stored on your computer or mobile device by a website’s server – the website can then retrieve the cookie and read its contents. It will contain some anonymous information such as a unique identifier, the site name, and some digits and numbers. These cookies allow a website to remember things like your preferences or what’s in your shopping basket.

Thanks, but no thanks

Cookies are harmless and they make your browsing experience a better one, but allowing them to be stored on your computer is entirely your choice. You can easily disable the cookie function in your browser settings.

How long does Outdoors Ramsey retain personal data?

Outdoors Ramsey Limited processes data for as long as necessary for the purpose for which the data is used. This may depend on deregistration by the consumer, such as for an account. In principle, data is retained for no longer than 1 year, unless longer retention is necessary to be able to assess any complaints or claims or for the purpose of compliance with statutory or administrative obligations.

How does Outdoors Ramsey secure consumer data?

Consumer data security is an important part of our business operations. Various security measures are implemented in order to guarantee this. This includes matters such as a strong password policy, screening internet data, encryption and authorisation procedures for the employees.

  1. All online information (excluding social media) is maintained and stored with BigCommerce US. They maintain administrative, technical, and physical security measures designed to provide reasonable protection for Personal Data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, and misuse. These security measures include access controls, encryption, and firewalls. We are certified as a PCI DSS Level 1 compliant service provider, which is the highest level of compliance available, and our platform is audited annually by an independent third-party qualified security assessor. Unfortunately, no method of Internet use, data transmission, or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee the absolute security of Personal Data, but every action is taken to keep our systems up to date with the latest internet security technology.
